This website uses analytics only if you say yes. Until you choose, nothing is loaded and nothing is stored. A box at the foot of the page asks once, “No thanks” is as easy as “Accept analytics”, and Cookie settings at the foot of every page lets you change your mind at any time. This page lists everything that can be stored on your device, and why.
What is stored, and where
Your answer. Whether you said yes or no to analytics, and when, kept in your browser’s local storage so you are not asked on every page. It is not a cookie, it stays on your device, and it is asked again after a year.
Analytics, only if you say yes. We load Google Tag Manager, and through it Google Analytics, to count visits and see which pages people read, so we know what is useful. Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_ followed by an id, which last up to two years. It is set up for analytics only: advertising storage and personalisation stay switched off. If you say no, or change a yes to a no, none of this loads, and the two cookies are removed.
The ICP generator. It remembers the email address you give it, in your browser’s local storage, so you are not asked for it every time. That is not a cookie but the same rules apply to it. It is there to run the tool you asked for, it stays on your device, and it is not read by this site for anything else.
The app. If you sign in at app.waving.co.uk, one cookie keeps you signed in. It is deleted when you sign out, and it is used for nothing else. The app has no analytics.
Editing this site. If you sign in to edit this website, it sets its own cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your editor settings. Nobody else gets them.
What is not here
- No advertising pixels from Meta, LinkedIn, Google or anyone else.
- No session recording, heat maps or split testing tools.
- No analytics at all in the app, and none on this website unless you say yes.
- No tracking in the emails Waving sends, ever. That is the product.
Third parties
The typeface on this site is served by Google Fonts, which means your browser fetches it from Google and Google sees your IP address. It sets no cookies. If you say yes to analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics are loaded from Google, in the United States, under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Forms on this site post to us.
Changing your mind, and clearing it
Press Cookie settings at the foot of any page to change your answer. You can also clear everything above from your browser’s settings, under site data or storage. Clearing local storage means you are asked about analytics again and the ICP generator asks for your email again. Clearing cookies signs you out of the app.
Changes
If this changes, so does the date at the top. If we ever add anything else that needs your consent, we will ask for it first rather than assume it.
